The historical significance of Panskura Thana in undivided Midnapore district is well-known to all Shyamsundarpur Patna which is the present name of this village under Panskura Thana was named as Siddhikundu Patna. But the inner spirit of another living god Shyamsundar jee’s dual-idol had a profound influence upon the mind of the village people. As a consequence most of the people in this village want to alter its name as Shyamsundarpur Patna. Thus this village has a relevance from the historical point of view.
In the same way, to preserve the antique lord siddhinath and also to develop the higher education in this locality the decision of setting up Siddhinath Mahavidyalaya is taken by some eminent interested persons. In this way the dream comes true when a college named Siddhinath Mahavidyalaya, affiliated to Vidyasagar university is set up specially by the efficiency and sincere and sustained effort of national teacher Sri Nirmal Chandra Maity and spontaneous bounty of land donor Rabi Nath Mahantaji, who donated 3.01 acres of land for setting up the college.
Location Of Siddhinath Mahavidyalaya
North-western side of Panskura p.s. under Tamluk sub-division in Purba Medinipur district. It is edges of three p.s. Panskura, Debra and Daspur. It is placed at north western side 12k.m. nh-6 and 18 k.m. away from Panskura railway station.
Siddhinath Mahavidyalaya, affiliated to Vidyasagar University is set up specially by the efficiency and sincere and sustained effort of National Teacher Sri. Nirmal Chandra Maity and spontaneous bounty of land doner Rabinath Mahantaji who donated three acres of land for setting up the College.Its present president is Sri Nirmal Chandra Maity and Secretary is Sri Banabihari Pahari. Some eminent persons are also members of this committee.
